Kevin Scott Collier
ILLUSTRATOR FOR HIRE
Kevin Scott Collier has worked as Art Director for The Grand Haven Tribune daily newspaper for over 25 years. His artwork and designs have won several awards from The Associated Press, United Press International and the Michigan Press Association. He has illustrated over 30 children's books, one of which, "Topsy Turvy Land," written by Donna J. Shepherd, was named one of the top fifty children's picture books of all time by World Magazine (December 2006 issue.) Kevin, also an accomplished author, teaches writing and illustration classes in his community several times per year.
Kevin is not a traditional illustrator who will create drawings for your book or short story and mail you the original artwork. No writer needs the headaches of what to do next in the print process. Kevin draws your artwork and scans and colors it in his Mac OS X Version 10.4.8 computer using Adobe Photoshop CS Version 8.0 and produces 300 dpi jpgs that are emailed to you or your publisher as "camera ready attachments." Authors get just what a publisher is looking for and can use.
Kevin is represented by The Hartline Literary Agency as a writer, but has a non-exclusive contract with this organization as an illustrator. This means YOU do not have to go through Kevin's agent to hire him as an illustrator.

The illustrations have so much personality, and really portray the emotions of the characters. Children love the vivid colors. "Kevin Scott Collier brings my words to life. Parents tell me their children’s eyes light up when they see the delightful world Kevin created to illustrate my children’s picture book, Topsy Turvy Land. He is always a delight with which to work, often outpacing me in his productivity. He makes my contribution as an author easier because I know he can take my words to a new level with his humor and talent."
